My wife and I purchased our home in Precinct 4 in 2007 and have raised four of our nine children in this same house. Our children have been blessed to attend Hoffman Lane Elementary School, Church Hill Middle School, Canyon High School and now my son Tanner is attending Texas A&M University in College Station, his younger siblings hope to attend A&M as well. After Moving to New Braunfels I was able to convince one of my older sons to relocate his family to New Braunfels as well, he is currently a New Braunfels Police Officer. Six of our nine children live in Texas and two of our six grandchildren live in New Braunfels.
My family and I have fallen deeply in love with the community that we live in. We have been attending Oakwood Baptist Church since we moved to New Braunfels area. I am currently a member of the Law Enforcement Security Team at Oakwood Church.
I began my Law Enforcement career in 1989. In the past 30 years I have worked as a City Police Officer, Field Training Officer, Investigator, Helicopter Pilot (Sheriff's Airborne), Federal Police Investigator (major crimes on Indian land), Deputy Marshal and Detective for a Texas Constable's office.

I have a background in Folk-style, Freestyle and Collegiate Wrestling. In 2008 I became one of the founding coaches for the New Braunfels Youth Wresting Club (nonprofit). I was able to work with a young organization of dedicated wrestlers, coaches and parents. Together we brought home 89 medals that year, placed 14 of our wrestlers in the top four at the State Championships in El Paso and two of our wrestlers won State titles that year. This same group lobbied the New Braunfels ISD and Comal ISD to develop a wrestling program at New Braunfels High School and Canyon High School. In April of 2009 My wife and I purchased commercial property on Ewelling Lane in Gruene and donated the use of the main building to the Youth Wrestling Club and the Canyon High School Wrestling Team. I was also invited to coach the Texas State Youth Wrestling team as we took our best Texas wrestlers across the country and allowed them to compete against the best of other states. One of my sons wrestled for Canyon High School, he is now attending college at Texas A&M in College Station. Another of my sons is starting his freshman year with Canyon Wrestling this year. I continue to volunteer my time to youth wrestling and the Canyon High School Wrestling program every year. I am hopeful that Canyon Lake High School will soon have a wrestling program and I will be happy to assist in any way I can.
I was raised in a community of farmers and cattle ranchers. My father's family has been in the cattle industry in Northern Californian since 1845. My father is still a rancher in the San Joaquin Valley to this day, one of the hardest working men you will ever meet (and a conservative Republican). I grew up in a loving christian home with hard working parents that are still married to this day, 57 years! My grandfather, on my mom's side of the family, was a choker setter and tree faller in the Sierra Nevada mountains until he was 30 years old and then became a Deputy Sheriff and eventually was elected to office as the County Sheriff where I grew up, his father was a US Marshal and Game Warden. Although my grandfather died in 1987, I still have people tell me what a great Sheriff and a good man he was, more than 30 years later! As a young man my goal was to be a hard worker and good father like my dad and a great lawman like my grandfather.
From 1984 to 2019 I have built, owned and operated several successful companies including a commercial water purification company, a helicopter company that specialized in search and rescue, drug abatement and law enforcement services, an almond ranch, commercial property development and leasing company and a pet resort (my wife operates the pet resort, Gruene Barks & Rec).
